Temporary restriction put on traffic going out of Ulaanbaatar

In relation to lowering the strict-lockdown by one stage or to the heightened state of readiness for disaster protection, a new set of regulations was approved for intercity traffic movement. A temporary restriction has been put on the traffic going out of Ulaanbaatar city until December 24. During this time frame, intercity transport services will also be halted.

 About the matter, Chief of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) Brigadier General G.Ariunbuyan said, “Per the government’s decision made on December 13, certain restrictions are being put on the traffic going out of Ulaanbaatar city starting from 6 am on December 18. In other words, citizens leaving the city due to reasons such as health issues, business trips, and funerals will be allowed to leave the city based on the result of their PCR tests. Truck drivers transporting fuel, gas, food, and animal fodder will also be allowed based on their test results. As for the procedure to be followed to gain entry to the city, those arriving from aimags with coronavirus outbreak shall gain permission from the Emergency Commission of the aimag and take a PCR test. Citizens arriving from other aimags can enter the city after filling a form at the auto road checkpoints.”
