Ulaanbaatar [COVID-19 heightened state of readiness extended until September 15]

At its irregular meeting held today, August 25, the cabinet decided to extend the heightened state of readiness, which expires August 31, until September 15.

The proposal to extend the heightened state was put forward to the Government  by the State Emergency Commission with a view to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and reduce the risk of transmission of the virus.

According to the press office of the cabinet secretariat, some of the restrictions in place within the heightened state of readiness will be eased or even cancelled beyond September 15 depending on the situation at that time.

As of August 25, the total confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Mongolia has reached 298, and 289 of them have already recovered, and nine people are under treatment.
